Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (16)
My Bio
I've been playing various forms of games for over a decade now. It all started in middle school when a friend of mine introduced me to "Magic: The Gathering." It all went quickly downhill from there. I've played quite a few different CCGs along the years, but it was that one fateful day at The Fantasy Shop, St. Charles, where my friend and I had been feeding our Magic habit, when we tried the demo of Warhammer 40k that'd been set up when my fate was terminally tied to minis gaming.

I mostly switched from CCGs to minis games. It started with 40k (2nd edition, mind you), playing various armies there. Then for a while it was the "pre-painted plastics" of Mechwarrior: Dark Age, then on to Star Wars minis and so forth.

Then a friend walked in one day with this copy of a new rulebook I'd never seen. "Prime" was written across the cover and it showed giant robots beating each other up with this guy with a giant goddamned axe going to town on it as well. I flipped through the book, finally coming to the "Doomreaver" page and I was hooked. Originally I picked up Warmachine as a "cute, other, little game to play when not playing 40k" but it's since grown into really the only hobby I've got; all other games having gone by the wayside in some form or another, either through them being discontinued or the rules straying away from what originally got me involved in them.

I like to think I'm a good painter. I'm not going to get a call from any major game company and be offered a giant deal to be their studio painter, but I'm not just randomly throwing paint around, either. At least, not anymore. I gloat about having every Warmachine figure I own 100% assembled and painted. It's something I'm rather smug about, especially since I don't care if my opponent uses painted figs or not. There's nothing like joining a conversation about how "people should paint all their figs before they use them" and lord it over those haughty bastards that I've got all my stuff done. Why haven't they?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the (crappy) pictures I've taken of my stuff. I really need to get around to taking more someday. A lot of those are really out of date. I've got so much more painted now it's not really even funny.

Thank you for liking my work. Is this Warhammer Tyranids you are painting? Awesome!

Close. It's a Raek from the Legion of Everblight faction from Hordes by Privateer Press. Though the aesthetic is extremely similar. I painted that mini in a figure trade I did with a friend.

And your photos are simply stunning. Makes me desperately wish I was there in those forests on those paths.

Thanks for the :llama:
